4 common mistakes of skin care
60Mistake No 1 - Using tissue paper to remove lipstick
A lot of people simply wipe their lipstick off with a tissue paper only; this is a wrong way of removing lipsticks. The skin of the lips is very delicate (the skin of the lips, with three to five cellular layers, is very thin compared to typical face skin, which has up to 16 layers), using tissue paper will make the lips surface rough and cleaning with too much pressure will cause the tiny blood vessel of the lips to break and thus cause discoloration of the lips.
Mistake No 2 – Not using a makeup remover to remove makeup
Some people use normal facial cleanser or just soap and water to remove their makeup but facial wash and soap was not design to remove layers of cosmetic, they are meant to remove surface oil and dirt only.
Makeup removers are specially designed to break down cosmetic and should be used to eradicate dirt and make up before using a normal facial cleanser.
For the eye area, use an eye makeup remover instead of the normal makeup remover as the skin around the eye is thinner and more delicate than other skin in your face. The eye makeup remover was designed to be ultra gentle and non-irritating.
The lipstick should be removed with a proper makeup remover so that your lips will remain soft, smooth and rosy for a very long time.
Mistake No 3 – Not washing the face with a facial cleanser in the morning
Most people have the idea that since they wash their face the night before they don’t have to use facial wash again in the morning. This is a misconception.
The skin regenerates itself in the night and dead skin cells tend to accumulate on the skin’s surface in the morning.
Facial wash needs to be use to ensures that dead skin cells are safely cleansed and removed, keeping your skin soft, smooth and feeling vitalize and refreshed.
Over time, this can help to delay the appearance of fine lines and will contribute to your skin’s firmness and tone.
Mistake No 4 – Using too much force in areas surrounding the eye
The skin around your eyes is especially delicate, using too much force when applying an eye cream, or removing your makeup can cause the surrounding skin to loosen, and it will also cause discoloration under eye due to the breaking of the tiny blood vessel.
Instead of rubbing the eye cream to the eye area, you should dot a tiny amount of eye cream around the eye, and then pat the cream into the skin. Treat it as carefully as you can, you don’t want the delicate skin under your eyes to loose its strength.
When removing makeup or for other reasons you need to rub, use the ring finger instead so as to exert lesser pressure in the eye area.
